It was Latin Night on “Dancing With the Stars,” which meant the stars danced sambas and rumbas, and Len handed out abysmally low scores, even for him. He wasn’t alone; I really can’t remember seeing numbers this bad for a couple seasons now. There were exceptions: Mya was once again triumphant with a beautiful rumba, and Natalie trailed her by just one point with a routine that made everyone sit up and take notice.
This week our stars danced the jive, the quickstep and the tango on “Dancing With the Stars.” Len had to take a week off. So, considerably less grumpy Australian director/choreographer Baz Luhrmann sat in. Hey, sometimes change is good.
Mya absolutely dazzled the judges with her jive, and Aaron Carter turned in another command performance with his quickstep. Donny Osmond took the bronze with a lot of flair… and Tom DeLay nearly dropped his partner. (more…)
Tonight the celebrities took to the floor to perform the salsa and the Viennese waltz on “Dancing With the Stars.” The second night of this season’s premiere did not lack for drama: Len and Bruno almost came to blows during the first hour of the broadcast, but by the end of the broadcast it was clear that the ladies are leaving the men in the dust in this horse race.

ABC announced its cast of 16 celebrities participating in the ninth season of Dancing with the Stars. Eight teams will open the new season with a two-hour premiere on September 21 at 8p, followed by the remaining eight teams with another two-hour show on September 22 at 8p. Chuck Exits Stage Left Although Ty’s samba was electric, he was expected to be sent home Well, folks, we had ourselves an upset!
Although Ty’s samba was downright electric, I think we all expected to see him sent home tonight. And he would have taken it on the chin. Instead, we said our goodbyes to country crooner Chuck Wicks and his girlfriend Julianne Hough. This oh-so-cute duo seemed to have the fans in their pockets throughout the season. But, if we’re being honest, Chuck just didn’t have the moves to keep him in the game. Reality caught up to him … and it didn’t help matters that Ty pulled out the magic at just the right moment.
