Atayla is the first contestant to loose at chance at becoming America’s Next Top Model. In an exclusive interview we asked Atayla if it was fair for Tyra to let her go first and if she will continue to pursue a career in modeling…
QUESTION: Did you think you were going home first?
ATAYLA: No, I did not think I was going home first. It was a total shock. They did not give me a chance to show them that I could be a top model. Kimberly quitting was a total shock to everyone. We did not see it coming. In another cycle when a girl quit, Tyra gave the group a break and there was no elimination. I thought we would get that same break and I did not think that I would be the one to go home.
QUESTION: Tyra said you were a commercial model and not a high fashion model. Do you agree?
ATAYLA: I think I am a little bit of both; commercial and high fashion. In past cycles Tyra pushed a few girls through that had more of a commercial look; that’s why I was not worried about going home first. They made a big mistake. I did not have a bad photo. Amis and Allison had bad critiques from the judges.
QUESTION: Tyra did say that your picture was not good. The judges were not impressed and said that the photo did not tell much of a story. You did not own the photo. What were you thinking while on set?
ATAYLA: I tried to prepare myself by making a sad face. I could have done something different. I don’t think the photo shown was my best shot.
QUESTION: What type of critique did you get from Paulina?
ATAYLA: She told me that I had beautiful almond shaped eyes however; my face shape could work for or against me depending on my angles towards the camera.
QUESTION: What will you do now?
ATAYLA: I will definitely continue to pursue a modeling career. I know I can do it because out of thousands of girls I made it to the top 13. I made it in the house and that says something.
Atayla was a delightful person to interview and she is definitely hopeful that she will be successful as a model. This experience did help her learn that she can be independent and make it on her own.
We did not get a chance to speak to Kimberly to find out why she snapped and quit the competition. We wish Atayla good luck in her endeavors at becoming a top model. Stay tuned to Realitychicks1212.com every week for
